This is a wiki for games that I'm developing.

I'm revising Bad Family, my game about a sit-com family having a very bad day. It's a party game - simple mechanics, easy to set-up, and designed to play in under an hour.

While I've been working on Bad Family for about 4 years (it was originally called The Lucky Joneses), my last round of playtests, a long period of reflection, and some useful feedback from Malcolm Craig have helped me realise how to get it into shape for other people to play. I'm doing a huge redraft now, which will be going out for peer review in about a month.

You can find the latest (and totally superseded) playtest document here: Bad Family - 080420 - Draft 3.1.pdf.

I have also recently playtested my Ronnies-winning game from 2005. The playtest report for the inaugural session of Left Coast is here. As part of the Festival of Flawless Victory II (a contest to encourage people finish games they've been procrastinating on), I've created a process for playing out scenes in Left Coast, something the game's been sorely lacking.

You can check it out my entry for the Artists First 2008 competition here. It's called Serpentine, and it was supposed to be pretty much Labyrinth the RPG.

Serpentine.txt.

'Soth', my four-page horror-comedy based on Call of Cthulu, is no longer in development. I decided that I didn't like its morality - I haven't figured out how to make evil fun, so I'm going to leave it alone. [Status needs to be updated]

Soth (Table of Contents)

Soth (Overview of Play) ... NB: This is rough, first-draft stuff.

That means my next project will probably be from the following list:

The Zombie Plan

Left Coast

Intractable

You can find other games that I've published, here.  And if you'd like to provide any feedback on Bad Family or Soth, feel free to start a thread on the Playtesting Forum at The Forge (here). I check it daily.

Cheers,

Steve
